Sweden is the procedure that follows Snehan kriya, under Sweden, the body is exposed to the medicated steam that allows toxins to be released from the cells which further prepares the body for Shodhan kriya.

PRADHAN KARMA

Vaman
Vaman is the treatment targeted to expel increased kapha dosha out of the body. Increase in kapha dosha causes several types of diseases including but not limited to a headache, migraine, long-lasting cold and many others. If the extent of Kapha is less, then we perform shaman chikitsa instead of Vaman. However, Vaman is the only alternative when Kapha has increased to a large scale and
shifted from its natural position in the body. Under Vaman, Kapha dosh is expelled out of the body using ayurvedic medicines that promote the process.

Virechana
The Virachana therapy is medicated purification therapy, cleansing the body from excess pitta accumulation, purifying blood and clearing toxins. The treatment primarily concentrates on the toxins accumulated in the liver and gallbladder, thus absolving the gastrointestinal tract completely.
Virechana Karma, mentioned in the Charaka Samhita, is known to be the best cure for treating the diseases emerging from vitiation of the pitta dosha.

Basti
Considered as the mother of all treatments, Basti cleanses the accumulated toxins from all the three doshas, Vata, Pitta and Kapha, especially the Vata toxins, through the colon. The importance of Basti Karma is that other than providing thorough detox, this procedure expertly balances the Vata-dosha. Restoring the balance is much needed because not only does the Vata-dosha cause majority of diseases in the human body, yet due to its mobile and erratic nature, the Vata-dosha moves the other two doshas viz. Kapha and Pitta from one part of the body to another and thus aids in their disturbance and implementing symptoms in the form of an ailment. It is for this reason that Vata dosha must be balanced to cure the disease as well as stay clear of the same.

Nasya
Nasya treatment refers to an Ayurvedic therapy that includes installation of herbal oils, juices or powders through the nasal route. It works correctly on disorders of ear, nose, and throat. Nasya is one of the five Panchakarma therapies. It is especially desirable for diseases of parts above the base of the neck that includes nasal passage being the gateway of the head.

Raktamokshana
Raktamokshana is considered one among Shodhana procedures. Raktamokshana means letting of blood which is mainly indicated in a specific disease state especially when there is Raktadushti and during the physiologic function.

UPA KARMA

Patra pinda swed
Fomentation with the herbs, which improves local circulation and reduces localized pain.

Shalishashtik pinda swed
Fomentation with a typical type of rice cooked in milk and medicated decoction, which helps in increasing strength of muscles and muscle tone.

Shirodhara
pouring medicated oil in a single stream on the forehead which helps in relieving stress and provide sound sleep.

Janu basti
Among all the remedies available for acute or chronic knee pain, Janu Basti is the most famous ayurvedic therapies. It gives a magical relief from the pain and stiffness associated with the knee pain.

Merudanda basti
Merudanda means spine and Basti implies an oil bath or application. It is a healing therapy specially designed to treat acute back pain and many disorders related to the spine. This therapy can also be termed as an internal cleansing of the spine. It is a complete package involving special massage techniques, ayurvedic oils, and steam bath.
In Spinal Basti, warm oil is kept over the whole length of the spine with herbal past boundary. During the procedure, the temperature of the oil is maintained ideal.

Takra Dhara
Pouring of Buttermilk medicated with kashayam over the head which helps in the soothing of nerves.

Kati basti
Kati Basti (Vasti) is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment used for lower backache and disorders of lumbosacral region, including slip disc, lumbar spondylosis, sciatica, spinal problems, etc. Kati Vasti is a part of an external operation (Snehana) therapy in Ayurveda. It is very safe, non-invasive and green category procedure.
In this procedure, you will get instant relief from lasting backache. After completing a course of 7 to 21 days, you may not need any oral medicines. It is a complete therapy for back pain and lumbosacral disorders. However, the results vary from person to person, but in most of the cases, people get quick relief after the procedure.

Manya basti
Manya stands for neck and Basti is the treatment in which lukewarm medicated oil is placed over the neck with an herbal paste boundary. The medicated oil is strategically positioned over the Cervical (neck) area by structuring an enclosure across the neck (back of the neck) using flour and herbal powders. This treatment is given for 30 mins and is helpful in treating any Neck pain, frozen
shoulder, cervical spondylosis or other muscular pain concerning the neck and shoulder.
Manya Basti strengthens the muscles and is intended to treat a range of diseases related to the cervical part of the vertebral column. It enhances the circulation at the cervical spine and boosts the disease-healing capacity of the body together with other medications.

Netra tarpan
Netra means eye and tarpan means giving strength to the eyes. The medicated ghee is poured over the eyelids in an enclosure built around the eye out of black mung flour. It is said to be an excellent treatment to improve vision and clarity of mind. It relieves tiredness and improves eyesight. It is highly recommended for people who regularly work at computers, operate machinery, drive for long
periods or anyone who is currently suffering from tired, aching and sore eyes.

Agnikarma
Agnikarma (Thermal Cautery) is an Ancient Medical Technique derived from the Indian system of medicine, Ayurveda. The technique of Agnikarma has been designed to relieve various muscular and joint disorders.
The Agnikarma (Thermal Cautery) involves a procedure whereby heat is transferred to the affected parts of the body using a metal Shalaka (metal rod).
Therapeutic burns are created using these metal rods, based on the specialist knowledge in many areas including the kind of disorder, the constitution of the patient, severity of the disease, etc.
